The Nature of the Conflict in Antigone In â€Å"Sophocles’ Praise of Man and the Conflicts of the Antigone,† Charles Paul Segal explains the nature of the conflict between Antigone and Creon: The conflict between Creon and Antigone has its starting point in the problems of law and justice. At any rate, the difference is most explicitly formulated in these terms in Antigone’s great speech on the divine laws. . . . Against the limited and relative â€Å"decrees† of men she sets the eternal laws of Zeus, the â€Å"unwritten laws of the gods.† She couples her assertion of these absolute â€Å"laws† with her own resolute acceptance of death (460) (64). In Antigone the protagonist, is humble and pious before the gods and would not tempt the†¦show more content†¦I shall rest, a loved one with him whom I have loved, sinless in my crime; for I owe a longer allegiance to the dead than to the living: in that world I shall abide for ever. But if thou wilt, be guilty of dishonouring laws which the gods have established in honour. Ismene is unmoved by the reasoning and sentiments of her sister: â€Å"I do them no dishonour; but to defy the State,-I have no strength for that.† Her conflict with her sister over the unlawful interment is not a serious conflict for either of the sisters. Ismene, in parting, accuses Antigone of foolishness in her bold plans: â€Å"Go, then, if thou must; and of this be sure,-that though thine errand is foolish, to thy dear ones thou art truly dear.† Ismene, one might say, is â€Å"humble and pious† to the king first and to the gods secondly. Bless The Beast And Children Bless the Beast and the Children, what was the point of this book? To show boys can go from immature: betwetter's, to cowboys. There were three main events that took place in Bless the Beast and children. The first one was at the beginning, when they decided to leave Box Canyon Boys Camp. Another was when they decided to steal a car. The last one is when they freed the Buffalo. Cotton, Teft, Shecker, Goodenow, Lally 1, and Lally 2, wanted to leave the camp because they felt they did not belong there due to all the torment they were receiving from the other campers. One day they decided to hike on horses and find a ride when they were in the city by either stealing a car or hitch-hiking. The first attempt did not work. Afterwards they att4empted to steal their counselors car, but they feared it would make too much noise. The second main event is when they stole a car. At first, they attempted to steal a car. They started off on horses but they felt it was too obvious and draw too much attention, so they left the horses in the woods and attempted to steal a car. They first tried to confiscate a car at a motel, but a man drove up and started to unload his luggage. The second attempt to steal a car was at a used car dealership, but that attempt failed because a police car was patrolling the parking lot. Afterwards they sighted a truck at a local bar and stole that one. The last event was when they freed the Baffalo. They were watching an event that killed animals for no reason. Cotton and the rest of the boys felt they that the killing was very humane, and they did not deserve to be killed. One night after all the hunters were asleep they decied to unlock the stables and free them. The first attempt did not work, yet the second one did. Now there was another problem after they freed the buffalo. The buffalo did not move just stayed in one place. They then decided to lure them into the wilderness with hay, which led them to once again steal a car. After being shot at they finally freed the buffalo, freeing them from the hunters. In conclusion, Cotton, Taft, Shecker, Goodenow, Lally 1, and Lally 2, were only trying to prove they were men and that they were not afraid to be a little dangerous. Them leaving the camp, stealing the car and setting the buffalo free was a trip to boost their ego.

Paul Begala, former counselor to President Bill Clinton, put it best when he was quoted in regards to President Clintons increased use of executive orders. Executive orders can sometimes have tremendous policy impact on the nation, yet they do not require the approval of Congress. However they do have the force of law. These legal tools are not mentioned in the Constitution, but have grown up based on the implied powers stemming from Article II, Section 1 which states, The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. This vesting clause is significant because it lacks the phrase herein granted making the presidents powers more vague, allowing these powers to develop as the country develops. George W. Bush consistently relies on his ability to use an executive order helping his administration stay afloat. There are countless reasons why a president would use an executive order for example, to undue policies from a previous administration, fulfill campaign and platform promises, and advance policies that would never get passed if it were to go through the House or Senate. In this study, I plan to scrutinize President Bushs use of the executive order to negate Former President Bill Clintons policies, explore how Bush uses them to advance his own policies, and analyze the secrecy of his presidency. During President Bushs first year in office, his mission was to undue everything the previous lame duck president did in attempt to restrict his movement after he came into office. Clinton issued several executive orders in an effort to tie the hands of President Bush once he took control of the presidency.
